Wooden Nipple is the name of a fake band created for a recording project we were asked to undertake by our friend Erin.  She didn't end up using "The Hornet God" for anything, but here it is in its joyous entirety.

Concrete Lions was the name Ellis and I began calling ourselves around 2004. After making a bunch of home recordings together we eventually became a real band which featured, in addition to Ellis and I, Jen Deon (Pizza Sub, The Dirtmitts) on bass and Scott Bell (Buffaloswans) on guitar. An even earlier, more noise jam-oriented version played a couple of shows with Bones on drums, Dan Toews on guitar, Ellis on bass, and Alex Krakus on guitar. The Dischordia Chronicles

Chronicles was written and recorded by Adam Horn and myself during the summer of 2004. Many of the songs were either written on or inspired by Texada Island, where we had been staying since April of that year building a house for our friend's mother.

In late 2001 I moved into a creepy basement suite in Surrey with my friends Kristine and Brent.  During that time I recorded Cul-de-Sac Pathway at Night on a Tascam Portastudio 7 with help from Ellis and Adam.  We also invented Scobach around this time.
At My Sheet Goes the Same Crooked Worm was recorded by Ellis and I in late 2002 and features one of the only known instances of Brent Giesbrecht on a recording (guitar squeals on "The Force...").

The Panda Bear of Delta

After embarrassing ourselves at Shindig, we decided to change our name to The Panda Bear of Delta.  I can't remember the specifics, but the name has something to do with Desmond Morris' book The Naked Ape, a zoological study of humanity that Ellis and I were really into at the time.
This one was recorded on an MD-4 multi-track by Ellis and myself in 2001.  I had just moved to Vancouver for the first time.

Bones: drums. There were many versions of "The Secret" recorded in the early 2000s. This is the most popular one. Ellis is playing most of the instruments and Sean and Adam share the singing. A stray track.

The Reverse Vampires

After the demise of (The) Polo Convoy I formed a new band with Ellis (bass) and Bones (drums), both formerly of Faithless Wonder.
The Reverse Vampires didn't play very many shows, but the one I remember most fondly was a botched appearance at Shindig 1999. We had planned a set of songs named after the calendar months. However, once we got on stage we forgot how to play most of them and resorted instead to a set's worth of Pavement and Davie Bowie covers. We were subsequently disqualified. Our only recording is a three-song EP recorded at Columbia Academy in 1999. We called it Funeral Service and Ambulance. It was never released.

(The) Polo Convoy

In the fall of 1997 I formed a band in Surrey, BC, with Alexandra Krakus (Olenka and the Autumn Lovers) and Adam Horn (Synthcake, Like Animals Again, The Rub). We called it (The) Polo Convoy. Rounding out the line-up were Clayton Smith (guitar) and Kirk Layman (drums). An earlier incarnation featured Keith on sax and a trumpeter whose name has escaped me. An even earlier incarnation had Pantera (aka Gabe) on guitar and some guy whose name I have forgotten on drums.  

In the summer of 1998 we recorded our first and only album, Illustration 13: Adult Male and Giant Baby.
It features 19 songs written by myself, Alex, and Adam. Alex did most of the recording on a cassette 8-track machine she borrowed from our friends in an another Surrey band called Daycamp.
It was never released in its entirety. Selections from the album appeared on two demo tapes, our only official band releases. "Vincent's Victory," an Adam Horn-penned song about suburban teen angst and fake homies, reached number 9 on CiTR's charts. Our final concert, I believe, was an appearance on Thunderbird Radio Hell in the pre-Ben Lai days. By that time we had replaced our original bandmates with Chris Plant (guitar) and Bones (drums), both of whom we poached from a North Delta-based band called Faithless Wonder.
